What is Nevimune 200mg?

Nevimune 200mg is an Indian brand of nevirapine, an HIV medicine (non nucleoside reverse transcriptase inhibitor). Each tablet contains nevirapine 200 mg. It is made in India by Cipla Limited.

What it is used for

According to the US FDA label for nevirapine tablets (DailyMed), nevirapine is used for HIV-1 infection, together with other antiretroviral medicines, in adults and children 15 days and older; the label advises against starting it in women with CD4 counts above 250 or men above 400 unless the benefit outweighs the risk. The US label carries a boxed warning about severe, sometimes fatal liver damage and skin reactions, especially in the first 18 weeks, and says it must not be used for post exposure prevention. Your doctor decides whether it suits you.
