About Valzaar 40mg
What is Valzaar 40mg?
Valzaar 40mg is an Indian brand of valsartan, an angiotensin II receptor blocker (ARB). Each tablet contains valsartan 40 mg. It is made in India by Torrent Pharmaceuticals Ltd.
What it is used for
According to the US FDA label for Diovan (DailyMed), valsartan is used for high blood pressure in adults and children 1 year and older, heart failure (NYHA class II to IV) in adults to reduce hospital admissions for heart failure, and lowering the risk of death from heart causes in clinically stable adults with left ventricular failure or dysfunction after a heart attack. The US label carries a boxed warning that medicines acting on the renin angiotensin system can injure or cause the death of an unborn baby, so valsartan should be stopped as soon as pregnancy is found. Your doctor decides whether it suits you.
Packs and price
Valzaar 40mg comes in packs of 30, 60 and 90 tablets. The lowest price works out at about $0.43 per tablet on the 90 tablet pack, as of October 2026; the pack selector shows the current price. Shipping is $25 on orders under $149 and free from $149.
Prescription status
Valsartan is a prescription medicine in the US, UK, Australia and Canada. Valzaar 40mg itself is an India made pack and is not approved by the FDA, MHRA, TGA or Health Canada. The FDA says that importing unapproved medicines for personal use is illegal in most circumstances, so check the rules where you live.
