About Tofase 5mg
What is Tofase 5mg?
Tofase 5mg is an Indian brand of tofacitinib, a Janus kinase (JAK) inhibitor. Each tablet contains tofacitinib 5 mg. It is made in India by Healing Pharma.
What it is used for
According to the US FDA label for Xeljanz (DailyMed), tofacitinib is used for moderate to severe rheumatoid arthritis, psoriatic arthritis, ankylosing spondylitis and ulcerative colitis in adults after one or more TNF blockers did not work well enough or were not tolerated, and, in children 2 years and older, psoriatic arthritis and polyarticular juvenile idiopathic arthritis. The US label carries a boxed warning about serious infections including tuberculosis, a higher death rate, cancer, major heart events and blood clots. Your doctor decides whether it suits you.

Muscle Relaxers Compared: Cyclobenzaprine, Tizanidine, Baclofen and Carisoprodol
Cyclobenzaprine and carisoprodol treat short lived muscle spasm. Baclofen and tizanidine treat spasticity. This comparison puts all four side by side using placebo controlled sedation rates, dosing ceilings, interaction risk and what the long term evidence supports.

Cyclobenzaprine Dosage: 5 mg vs 10 mg and the Three Week Limit
Cyclobenzaprine is dosed at 5 mg three times daily, raised to 10 mg if needed, for two to three weeks at most. Trial data shows drowsiness rising from 19 to 28 points over placebo when the dose doubles, which is the case for starting low.

Tizanidine Dosage and the Drug Interactions That Change It
Tizanidine starts at 2 mg every six to eight hours and tops out at 36 mg daily, but interactions usually decide the ceiling. Ciprofloxacin raises exposure tenfold and fluvoxamine thirty three fold, and both combinations are contraindicated.
