Kamagra Types Compared: Tablets, Gold, Oral Jelly, Polo, Effervescent and Chewable

Kamagra is one of the most recognised generic sildenafil brands in the world, and Ajanta Pharma sells it in a surprising number of forms: a standard film-coated tablet, a Gold tablet, a jelly in a sachet, a mint-shaped Polo, a fizzy Effervescent tablet, a chewable, and two versions that add dapoxetine. The question we are asked most is which one is strongest or fastest.

The honest answer is that the single-ingredient versions all contain the same drug at the same maximum dose. What differs is how you take them. This guide compares them properly, including the part most sellers leave out: what the regulatory data says about whether dissolving forms really work faster.

The short answer

If you can swallow a tablet and want the most predictable result, the standard Kamagra 100mg tablet is the one to choose. If you dislike tablets, Kamagra Oral Jelly, Kamagra Polo or Kamagra Effervescent deliver the same 100 mg in a different format. None of them is proven to act faster, and dissolving forms are more affected by a heavy meal than an ordinary tablet. If 100 mg is too much, Kamagra Gold 50 is the lower strength.

Same molecule, same ceiling

Every version above contains sildenafil citrate, the active ingredient in Viagra. The FDA label for sildenafil sets 50 mg as the usual dose for most men, with adjustment up to a maximum of 100 mg or down to 25 mg, taken no more than once a day. That ceiling applies whatever form the sildenafil comes in. A Polo is not stronger than a tablet, and a sachet of jelly is not weaker. The UK product information for Viagra reports that 200 mg did not increase efficacy but did increase side effects, so taking two forms together or doubling up a sachet adds risk without adding benefit.

Do jelly and dissolving forms work faster?

This is the main selling point for the jelly, Polo, chewable and effervescent versions, usually with a claim of onset in 15 minutes. Ajanta has not, to our knowledge, published pharmacokinetic studies of these specific products. But regulators have assessed dissolving sildenafil in detail, and the data is useful.

When the European Medicines Agency reviewed Viagra 50 mg orodispersible tablets, the studies found:

• Taken without water, the dissolving tablet was bioequivalent to the ordinary film-coated tablet. Same peak, same total exposure.
• Taken with water, total exposure was unchanged but peak concentration was about 14 percent lower than the ordinary tablet.

A separate set of studies of a sildenafil orodispersible film, published in 2023, reached the same conclusion: with or without water, it was bioequivalent to the Viagra film-coated tablet. Put simply, a well-made dissolving form of sildenafil gets into your blood at about the same speed as a normal tablet. The difference is convenience, not speed.

Many people do report feeling jelly work sooner. Some of that is expectation, and some is that people often take the jelly on an empty stomach, which on its own makes any sildenafil work faster.

Food matters more for dissolving forms

This is the part rarely mentioned by sellers, and it matters for how you use the jelly, Polo or chewable.

Figures come from the FDA sildenafil label for the ordinary tablet and the EU Viagra product information for the orodispersible tablet. They describe the branded products, not Kamagra specifically, but the pharmacology of dissolving sildenafil is the same. The practical lesson: if you use a jelly or chewable form, take it on an empty stomach or after a light meal. After a large dinner it may take hours to reach a useful level.

Kamagra 100mg tablet

The standard Kamagra 100mg is a blue film-coated tablet taken with water about an hour before sex. It is the version with the most predictable absorption, the smallest food penalty, and the most direct comparison to branded Viagra 100 mg. For most men who are comfortable swallowing tablets, it is the default choice.

Kamagra Gold 50 and Gold 100

Kamagra Gold 100 contains the same 100 mg of sildenafil as the standard tablet in a different tablet design. There is no pharmacological reason to expect it to work differently. Kamagra Gold 50 matters more, because it is the only single-ingredient Kamagra at the 50 mg dose the FDA label recommends as the usual starting point. Men over 65, or with liver disease or severe kidney disease, will usually want a lower dose than 100 mg to begin with, because they clear sildenafil more slowly.

Kamagra Oral Jelly

Kamagra Oral Jelly comes as single-use sachets of flavoured gel, each containing 100 mg of sildenafil. You squeeze it into your mouth and swallow. It suits men who struggle with tablets and those who like the taste. Keep in mind:

• One sachet is one full 100 mg dose. Do not use more than one in 24 hours.
• Splitting a sachet to get a lower dose is imprecise because the gel may not be evenly distributed. If you want 50 mg, a 50 mg tablet is more reliable.
• Take it on an empty stomach for the reasons above.

Kamagra Polo and Kamagra Chewable

Kamagra Polo is a mint-flavoured chewable shaped like a ring, and Kamagra Chewable is a standard chewable tablet. Both contain 100 mg and are chewed without water. They are discreet and easy to carry. The same food caution applies as with the jelly.

Kamagra Effervescent

Kamagra Effervescent is dropped into a glass of water, where it fizzes and dissolves into a flavoured drink. It suits men who cannot or will not swallow tablets and prefer a drink to a gel. Because the drug is already in solution, it can in principle be absorbed without a dissolving step, but there is no published data showing a meaningful clinical difference, and the EU data above found that taking dissolving sildenafil with water slightly lowered the peak rather than raising it.

Super Kamagra and Oral Jelly Vol. 2: the dapoxetine versions

Super Kamagra and Kamagra Oral Jelly Vol. 2 add dapoxetine, a short-acting drug for premature ejaculation. They are only appropriate for men with both erectile difficulty and early ejaculation. Dapoxetine adds nausea, dizziness and a risk of fainting that rises with alcohol and dehydration. Regulatory status

Kamagra is manufactured by Ajanta Pharma in India. It is not approved by the FDA in the United States, the MHRA in the United Kingdom, or the TGA in Australia. Buying it for personal use sits in a different legal position in each country, which we cover for Australia in is Kamagra legal in Australia. The approved equivalent in each of those markets is generic sildenafil or branded Viagra, which contain the same active ingredient.

Side effects are the same across every form

Because the drug is the same, the side effect profile is the same. In flexible-dose trials of sildenafil, where men adjusted the dose as recommended, the most common reactions were:

At a fixed 100 mg dose the rates were higher: headache 28 percent, indigestion 17 percent and abnormal vision 11 percent. That is another reason Kamagra Gold 50 deserves a look if 100 mg gives you side effects.

Who should not use any Kamagra

• Anyone using nitrates in any form, including nitroglycerin for angina and nitrite poppers.
• Anyone taking riociguat.
• Anyone whose heart condition makes sexual activity inadvisable.
• Anyone taking ritonavir should not exceed 25 mg in 48 hours, a dose no Kamagra product provides.
• Men taking alpha blockers, erythromycin or strong CYP3A4 inhibitors should start at a lower dose than any 100 mg Kamagra.

How to choose

• Most predictable result: Kamagra 100mg tablet, taken on an empty stomach.
• First time or side effects at 100 mg: Kamagra Gold 50.
• Hate swallowing tablets: Oral Jelly, Polo, Chewable or Effervescent, taken on an empty stomach.
• Need discretion: Polo or Chewable.
• Also have premature ejaculation: Super Kamagra, with the dapoxetine cautions above.
