Tadalista Strengths and Types Compared: 5 mg to 60 mg, CT, Professional and Super Active

Tadalista is a range of tadalafil tablets sold under one brand name in several strengths and formats: plain tablets from 5 mg to 60 mg, plus three 20 mg variants called CT, Professional and Super Active. They all contain the same active ingredient as Cialis. What changes between them is how much tadalafil each tablet holds and, for the three variants, the form it comes in.

This guide compares every Tadalista product we sell against the tadalafil prescribing information: which strengths sit inside the labelled doses, which sit above them, what the evidence says about higher doses and faster-acting formats, which men need a lower strength, and what each one costs per tablet. We found no published clinical trials of any Tadalista product itself, so the clinical figures below come from the US label for Cialis and from studies of tadalafil.

The short answer

For most men the sensible choice is a 10 mg or 20 mg plain tablet taken as needed, or 5 mg once a day for men who prefer daily dosing. Those match the labelled doses. Tadalista 40 and 60 are two and three times the maximum dose in the label, and no trial has shown they work better for erectile dysfunction. CT, Professional and Super Active all contain 20 mg; we found no published evidence that any of them works faster than a plain tablet.

What Tadalista is

Tadalista is a brand marketed by Fortune Healthcare, an Indian company. Each product is labelled to contain tadalafil, the phosphodiesterase type 5 (PDE5) inhibitor sold by Eli Lilly as Cialis. Tadalafil helps the blood vessels in the penis relax when there is sexual arousal; it does not cause an erection on its own.

Tadalista has not been assessed or approved by the US FDA, the UK MHRA, Australia's TGA or Health Canada. That matters for two reasons. There is no regulator's review of its quality in those countries, and there is no published bioequivalence study showing that a Tadalista tablet releases tadalafil the same way Cialis does. The figures in this guide describe what tadalafil does at a given dose in the Cialis trials; they assume, but cannot prove, that a Tadalista tablet delivers the dose on the label.

What the tadalafil label allows

The US prescribing information for Cialis sets two ways of using tadalafil for erectile dysfunction:

• As needed. The recommended starting dose for most men is 10 mg before sexual activity. It can go up to 20 mg or down to 5 mg depending on how well it works and how well it is tolerated. The maximum is one dose a day. The label notes an effect up to 36 hours after a dose.
• Once daily. The starting dose is 2.5 mg, taken at about the same time every day regardless of when sex happens, and it can go up to 5 mg. For benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH), with or without erectile dysfunction, the daily dose is 5 mg.

Food does not change how tadalafil is absorbed, so it can be taken with or without a meal. Tadalafil exposure rises in proportion to the dose between 2.5 mg and 20 mg, and the average half-life in healthy men is 17.5 hours.

Tadalista 5: the daily-dose strength

Five milligrams is the top of the daily-dose range and the lowest step of the as-needed range. Daily dosing suits men who have sex often or who do not want to plan around a tablet, and men treating urinary symptoms of BPH at the same time. Because a daily dose keeps a steady level in the blood, the label sets tighter limits for it in kidney disease and with interacting medicines, covered below. We do not stock a 2.5 mg Tadalista tablet, which is the labelled starting point for daily use. Daily dosing also has tighter limits: men taking a strong CYP3A4 inhibitor such as ketoconazole or ritonavir should not take more than 2.5 mg a day, so Tadalista 5 daily is twice their limit, and daily use is not recommended at all with severe kidney impairment or on dialysis.

Tadalista 10: the label's starting dose

For use as needed, 10 mg is where the label starts most men. It is also the ceiling for several groups: men taking strong CYP3A4 inhibitors such as ketoconazole or ritonavir (no more than 10 mg every 72 hours), men with mild or moderate liver impairment (no more than 10 mg a day), and men with moderate kidney impairment (no more than 10 mg every 48 hours). Men with severe kidney impairment or on dialysis have a lower limit still, 5 mg every 72 hours, so even Tadalista 10 is too much for them, and in severe liver impairment tadalafil is not recommended at all. If 10 mg works well, there is no reason to go higher.

Tadalista 20: the maximum as-needed dose

Does 20 mg work better than 10 mg?

A little, on average, though these data compare each dose with placebo rather than with each other. A pooled analysis of 11 placebo-controlled trials in 2,102 men reported:

Most of the gain over placebo was already there at 10 mg; the 20 mg figure was about 10 percentage points higher for successful attempts, which is worthwhile for men who did not get enough from 10 mg, but it is not a reason to start on 20 mg.

Side effects rise with dose

The as-needed trials reported side effects at each labelled strength:

Indigestion is the effect that climbs most clearly with dose. Back pain and muscle aches with tadalafil usually start 12 to 24 hours after a dose and settle within about 48 hours, according to the label.

Tadalista 40 and 60: above the label

No regulator has approved 40 mg or 60 mg of tadalafil for erectile dysfunction, and no published trial has shown that either dose works better than 20 mg for it. Forty milligrams once daily is an approved dose of tadalafil for a different condition, pulmonary arterial hypertension (as Adcirca). In the trial behind that approval, 40 mg brought more headache, flushing and muscle pain than 20 mg.

The label's overdose section reports single doses up to 500 mg in healthy volunteers and repeated daily doses up to 100 mg in patients, with side effects similar to those at lower doses. Those were study volunteers under supervision. The data do not show that a higher dose is useful or safe for regular use, and it says nothing about men with heart disease, kidney disease or interacting medicines, who are exactly the men who should not take more. Tadalista CT: the chewable tablet

Tadalista CT is a 20 mg chewable tablet. A chewable format can help men who find tablets hard to swallow. We found no published human study comparing how fast tadalafil reaches the blood from a chewed tablet against a swallowed one. Treat it as a 20 mg dose in a different form, with the same limits as Tadalista 20.

Tadalista Professional: the under-the-tongue tablet

Tadalista Professional is a 20 mg tablet sold for dissolving under the tongue. The idea behind sublingual products is that some drug is absorbed through the lining of the mouth. Tadalafil, however, is practically insoluble in water. The closest human evidence comes from tadalafil films that dissolve in the mouth: in studies in healthy men they were bioequivalent to a swallowed tablet, with a slightly lower peak in one study, not faster or stronger. We found no published study of a sublingual tadalafil tablet itself. The dose is still 20 mg, the label maximum, and all the same warnings apply.

Tadalista Super Active: the soft gel capsule

Super Active is 20 mg of tadalafil in a soft gelatin capsule. Soft gels can dissolve quickly in the stomach, but how fast a capsule dissolves is not the same as how fast tadalafil reaches its peak level, which depends on the drug's own absorption. We found no published pharmacokinetic or clinical study of Tadalista Super Active, so any claim that it works in a set number of minutes is unsupported.

Does any type work faster?

We found no evidence that it does. For swallowed tadalafil, the label says the peak level arrives between 30 minutes and 6 hours after a dose, with a median of 2 hours. In one trial in the label, more men on tadalafil than on placebo had a successful erection within 30 minutes (52% on 20 mg and 38% on 10 mg, against 35% on placebo), so a swallowed tablet can start working well before its peak. The practical advice is the same for every product in the range: take it at least 30 minutes before sex, and judge it over several attempts rather than one.

Men whose tadalafil levels run higher

Some men clear tadalafil more slowly, so the same tablet leaves more drug in the blood:

The upshot for the Tadalista range: for men with moderate kidney impairment, mild or moderate liver impairment, or taking a strong CYP3A4 inhibitor, the label maximum is 10 mg, so Tadalista 20, CT, Professional and Super Active are over the limit. For men with severe kidney impairment or on dialysis the maximum is 5 mg every 72 hours, so Tadalista 10 is over it too, and in severe liver impairment tadalafil is not recommended at all. Tadalista 40 and 60 are out of the question for all of these men. Age alone does not need a lower dose, though older men are often on other medicines that do. Rifampin works the other way, cutting tadalafil exposure by 88%, which can make it ineffective.

Who should not take tadalafil, and who needs extra care

Do not take it (contraindicated in the US label):

• Nitrates in any form (nitroglycerin, isosorbide mononitrate or dinitrate, and "poppers"). The combination can drop blood pressure dangerously.
• Riociguat and other guanylate cyclase stimulators.
• A known serious allergy to tadalafil (Cialis or Adcirca), including past Stevens-Johnson syndrome or exfoliative dermatitis.

Should not be used, or not recommended:

• Men for whom sexual activity is inadvisable because of their heart.
• Heart attack in the last 90 days, unstable angina or angina during sex, heart failure (NYHA class 2 or more) in the last 6 months, uncontrolled arrhythmias, low blood pressure (below 90/50 mmHg), uncontrolled high blood pressure, or a stroke in the last 6 months. The US label says these men were not studied and tadalafil is not recommended; the EU label lists them as contraindications.
• Hereditary retinal disease such as retinitis pigmentosa.
• Severe liver impairment.
• Another PDE5 inhibitor or other ED treatment, including another Tadalista product on the same day.

Use with care:

• Alpha-blockers such as tamsulosin or doxazosin: only once stable on the alpha-blocker, starting at the lowest dose; not recommended together for BPH.
• Heavy drinking: five or more units of alcohol with tadalafil can cause dizziness, a fast heart rate and a fall in standing blood pressure.
• Other blood pressure medicines, whose effect tadalafil can add to.
• Narrowing of the heart's outflow, such as aortic stenosis.
• A previous NAION (sudden optic nerve damage) in either eye: the US label says use only with caution and when the benefit outweighs the risk; the EU label contraindicates tadalafil after NAION in one eye.
• Conditions that raise the risk of priapism, such as sickle cell anaemia, multiple myeloma or leukaemia, or a deformed penis (angulation, scarring or Peyronie's disease).

When to get urgent help

• An erection lasting more than 4 hours, painful or not. Untreated priapism can permanently damage the penis.
• Sudden loss of vision in one or both eyes.
• Sudden loss or decrease of hearing, with or without ringing in the ears or dizziness.
• Chest pain, fainting or severe dizziness during or after sex. Tell the emergency team you have taken tadalafil and when: the label says nitrates should be considered only if at least 48 hours have passed since the last dose, and then under close medical supervision.

Price per tablet across the range

Two things stand out. The three 20 mg variants cost almost exactly the same as the plain 20 mg tablet, so there is no price reason to pick one over another. And Tadalista 10 costs less per tablet than Tadalista 20 while being the dose the label starts most men on. Shipping is $25 on orders under $149 and free from $149.

How Tadalista compares with Cialis and other generics

In the US, FDA-approved generic tadalafil costs pharmacies very little: they paid about $0.17 per 20 mg generic tablet, against $53.83 for a Cialis 20 mg tablet, as of 30 September 2026 in the Medicaid NADAC survey. A US man with a prescription and access to a discount pharmacy may pay less for an FDA-approved generic than for any imported brand, and should compare cash prices before ordering.

Prescription and legal status

Tadalafil is a prescription medicine in the US, Canada and Australia. In the UK, Cialis Together (tadalafil 10 mg, for men over 18) can be bought from a pharmacy after a consultation with a pharmacist; every other tadalafil product needs a prescription. Tadalista itself is not authorised by any of these regulators, and the MHRA advises UK buyers to use only UK-registered pharmacies. The FDA says that in most circumstances it is illegal for individuals to import drugs into the US for personal use, because products bought abroad usually have not been approved by the FDA. Importing prescription medicines is also restricted in the UK, Canada and Australia, and the rules differ by country.

Whatever you choose, a doctor's check before starting is worth it: erectile dysfunction can be an early sign of heart disease or diabetes, and the doctor needs to know about nitrates, alpha-blockers and other medicines before any PDE5 inhibitor is used.
