What is Azeetop 500mg?

Azeetop 500mg is an Indian brand of azithromycin, a macrolide antibiotic. Each tablet contains azithromycin 500 mg. It is made by Healing Pharma, India.

What it is used for

According to the US FDA label for Zithromax tablets (DailyMed), azithromycin is used for adult infections including flare ups of chronic bronchitis, acute bacterial sinusitis, community acquired pneumonia, sore throat and tonsillitis (when first line treatment cannot be used), uncomplicated skin infections, urethritis and cervicitis, and chancroid in men, plus ear infections, pneumonia and throat infections in children. Your doctor decides whether it suits you.

Prescription status

Azithromycin tablets are prescription only in the US, UK, Australia and Canada. Azeetop 500mg itself is an India made pack and is not approved by the FDA, MHRA, TGA or Health Canada. The FDA says that importing unapproved medicines for personal use is illegal in most circumstances, so check the rules where you live.
