About Biovorin 15mg
What is Biovorin 15mg?
Biovorin 15mg is an Indian brand of leucovorin, a folate analog (folinic acid). Each tablet contains leucovorin 15 mg, as leucovorin calcium. It is made in India by Zydus Lifesciences.
What it is used for
According to the US FDA label for leucovorin calcium tablets (DailyMed), leucovorin is used for reducing the toxicity of methotrexate in adults whose bodies clear methotrexate too slowly, and of other folic acid antagonists after an overdose in adults, plus cerebral folate transport deficiency in adults and children with a confirmed FOLR1 gene variant; it is not for pernicious anaemia or other anaemias caused by lack of vitamin B12. Your doctor decides whether it suits you.
Packs and price
Biovorin 15mg comes in packs of 50, 100 and 200 tablets. The lowest price works out at about $1.40 per tablet on the 200 tablet pack, as of October 2026; the pack selector shows the current price. Shipping is $25 on orders under $149 and free from $149.
Prescription status
Leucovorin (called calcium folinate in the UK) tablets are prescription medicines in the US and UK. Biovorin 15mg itself is an India made pack and is not approved by the FDA, MHRA, TGA or Health Canada. The FDA says that importing unapproved medicines for personal use is illegal in most circumstances, so check the rules where you live.
Before you order
Read the patient leaflet that comes with the pack. Tell your doctor or pharmacist about any other medicines you take and any health conditions you have. Get urgent medical help if you notice signs of an allergic reaction, such as swelling of the face, lips, tongue or throat, trouble breathing, or a widespread rash.
