About Febucip 40mg
What is Febucip 40mg?
Febucip 40mg is an Indian brand of febuxostat, a xanthine oxidase inhibitor that lowers uric acid. Each tablet contains febuxostat 40 mg. It is made in India by Cipla Limited.
What it is used for
According to the US FDA label for Uloric (DailyMed), febuxostat is used for long term lowering of uric acid in adults with gout who did not respond well enough to the highest suitable dose of allopurinol, cannot tolerate allopurinol, or should not take it; it is not for high uric acid without symptoms. The US label carries a boxed warning: in a study of gout patients with heart disease, those taking febuxostat had a higher rate of cardiovascular death than those taking allopurinol. Your doctor decides whether it suits you.
Packs and price
Febucip 40mg comes in packs of 30, 60 and 90 tablets. The lowest price works out at about $0.85 per tablet on the 90 tablet pack, as of October 2026; the pack selector shows the current price. Shipping is $25 on orders under $149 and free from $149.
Prescription status
Febuxostat is a prescription medicine in the US, UK, Australia and Canada. Febucip 40mg itself is an India made pack and is not approved by the FDA, MHRA, TGA or Health Canada. The FDA says that importing unapproved medicines for personal use is illegal in most circumstances, so check the rules where you live.
Before you order
Read the patient leaflet that comes with the pack. Tell your doctor or pharmacist about any other medicines you take and any health conditions you have. Get urgent medical help if you notice signs of an allergic reaction, such as swelling of the face, lips, tongue or throat, trouble breathing, or a widespread rash.
