What it is used for
According to the US FDA label for Kenalog-40 (DailyMed), triamcinolone acetonide is used for intramuscular treatment, when oral steroids are not feasible, of severe allergic, skin, endocrine, blood, rheumatic and other inflammatory conditions, and injection into a joint or soft tissue as short term add on treatment in conditions such as acute gout, bursitis, tenosynovitis, epicondylitis, rheumatoid arthritis and osteoarthritis synovitis. The label states it is not for intravenous, intradermal, intraocular, epidural or intrathecal use. Your doctor decides whether it suits you.
