What is Citacan 20mg?

Citacan 20mg is an Indian brand of citalopram, a selective serotonin reuptake inhibitor (SSRI) antidepressant. Each tablet contains citalopram 20 mg. It is made in India by Healing Pharma.

What it is used for

According to the US FDA label for Celexa (DailyMed), citalopram is used for major depressive disorder in adults. The US label carries a boxed warning that antidepressants increased the risk of suicidal thoughts and behaviors in children, teenagers and young adults in short term studies, so anyone taking it should be watched closely for worsening mood or new suicidal thoughts. Your doctor decides whether it suits you.
