What is Fungicip 150mg?

Fungicip 150mg is an Indian brand of fluconazole, an antifungal medicine. Each tablet contains fluconazole 150 mg. It is made by Cipla Limited in India.

What it is used for

According to the US FDA label for Diflucan (DailyMed), fluconazole is used for vaginal yeast infection, yeast infections of the mouth, throat and esophagus, Candida urinary tract infection, peritonitis and serious body wide Candida infections, cryptococcal meningitis, and prevention of yeast infections in some bone marrow transplant patients. Your doctor decides whether it suits you.

Prescription status

In the US, fluconazole is prescription only at every strength. In the UK and Australia a single 150 mg dose for vaginal thrush is supplied by a pharmacist, and in Canada it is sold without a prescription; other uses need a prescription. Fungicip 150mg itself is an India made pack and is not approved by the FDA, MHRA, TGA or Health Canada. The FDA says that importing unapproved medicines for personal use is illegal in most circumstances, so check the rules where you live.
