What is Lamivir HBV 100mg?

Lamivir HBV 100mg is an Indian brand of lamivudine, an antiviral medicine for hepatitis B. Each tablet contains lamivudine 100 mg. It is made in India by Cipla Limited.

What it is used for

According to the US FDA label for Epivir-HBV (DailyMed), lamivudine is used for chronic hepatitis B with active virus replication and active liver inflammation; this 100 mg strength is not the dose used for HIV, and the label says it is usually chosen only when hepatitis B medicines with a lower risk of resistance are not suitable. The US label carries a boxed warning about lactic acidosis, severe flares of hepatitis B after stopping, and the risk of HIV resistance if it is used in people with HIV that is not diagnosed or treated. Your doctor decides whether it suits you.
