About Minirin Melt 120mcg
What is Minirin Melt 120mcg?
Minirin Melt 120mcg is desmopressin, a synthetic form of the hormone vasopressin, sold in India under the Minirin Melt brand name by Ferring Pharmaceuticals. Each oral lyophilisate (a melt that dissolves under the tongue) contains desmopressin 120 micrograms, as desmopressin acetate.
What it is used for
According to the UK SmPC for DDAVP Melt 120 micrograms (emc), desmopressin is used for cranial diabetes insipidus that responds to vasopressin, and passing large amounts of urine and extreme thirst after pituitary surgery; the same 120 microgram melt is also licensed in the UK (as DesmoMelt) for bedwetting (primary nocturnal enuresis). Your doctor decides whether it suits you.
Packs and price
Minirin Melt 120mcg comes in packs of 30, 60 and 90 tablets. The lowest price works out at about $1.89 per tablet on the 90 tablet pack, as of October 2026; the pack selector shows the current price. Shipping is $25 on orders under $149 and free from $149.
Prescription status
Desmopressin is a prescription medicine in the US, UK, Australia and Canada. The 60 and 120 microgram melts are not sold in the US. Minirin Melt 120mcg itself is an Indian market pack and is not approved by the FDA, MHRA, TGA or Health Canada. The FDA says that importing unapproved medicines for personal use is illegal in most circumstances, so check the rules where you live.
Before you order
Read the patient leaflet that comes with the pack. Tell your doctor or pharmacist about any other medicines you take and any health conditions you have. Get urgent medical help if you notice signs of an allergic reaction, such as swelling of the face, lips, tongue or throat, trouble breathing, or a widespread rash.
