What is Vasocon 1mg?

Vasocon 1mg is an Indian brand of adrenaline (epinephrine), an alpha and beta adrenergic agonist. Each 1 mL ampoule contains adrenaline (epinephrine) 1 mg (1 mg per mL, also written 1:1000). It is made in India by Neon Laboratories.

What it is used for

According to the US FDA label for Adrenalin (epinephrine injection) 1 mg/mL (DailyMed), adrenaline (epinephrine) is used for emergency treatment of allergic reactions (Type I), including anaphylaxis, and raising mean arterial blood pressure in adults with low blood pressure caused by septic shock. Your doctor decides whether it suits you.

Prescription status

Adrenaline 1 mg/mL injection is a prescription medicine in the US and UK. Vasocon 1mg itself is an India made pack and is not approved by the FDA, MHRA, TGA or Health Canada. The FDA says that importing unapproved medicines for personal use is illegal in most circumstances, so check the rules where you live.
