What is Luramax 40mg?

Luramax 40mg is an Indian brand of lurasidone, an atypical antipsychotic. Each tablet contains lurasidone 40 mg. It is made in India by Sun Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd.

What it is used for

According to the US FDA label for Latuda (DailyMed), lurasidone is used for schizophrenia in adults and teenagers 13 to 17 years, and depressive episodes of bipolar I disorder (bipolar depression), on its own in adults and children 10 to 17 years or together with lithium or valproate in adults. The US label carries a boxed warning that older people with dementia related psychosis who take antipsychotic medicines have a higher risk of death (it is not approved for that use), and that antidepressants increased the risk of suicidal thoughts and behaviors in children, teenagers and young adults in short term studies. Your doctor decides whether it suits you.
