According to the UK SmPC for Nexium 20 mg gastro resistant tablets (emc), esomeprazole is used for gastroesophageal reflux disease (treating erosive reflux esophagitis, preventing relapse once healed, and relieving reflux symptoms), getting rid of Helicobacter pylori together with antibiotics to heal and prevent H. pylori ulcers, healing stomach ulcers and preventing stomach and duodenal ulcers linked to NSAID painkillers in people who need to keep taking them, and Zollinger Ellison syndrome, in adults; and reflux disease and H. pylori duodenal ulcer in teenagers 12 years and older.
