About PAN 20mg
What is PAN 20mg?
PAN 20mg is an Indian brand of pantoprazole, a proton pump inhibitor (PPI). Each gastro resistant tablet contains pantoprazole 20 mg, as pantoprazole sodium. It is made in India by Alkem Laboratories Ltd.
What it is used for
According to the US FDA label for Protonix delayed release tablets (DailyMed), pantoprazole is used for short term healing and symptom relief of erosive esophagitis caused by gastroesophageal reflux disease (in adults and children 5 years and older), keeping erosive esophagitis healed and reducing heartburn relapse in adults, and long term treatment of conditions with too much stomach acid such as Zollinger Ellison syndrome. Your doctor decides whether it suits you.
Packs and price
PAN 20mg comes in packs of 60, 90 and 120 tablets. The lowest price works out at about $0.20 per tablet on the 120 tablet pack, as of October 2026; the pack selector shows the current price. Shipping is $25 on orders under $149 and free from $149.
Prescription status
Pantoprazole is a prescription medicine in the US; in the UK and Australia small packs of 20 mg tablets are also sold in pharmacies for heartburn. PAN 20mg itself is an India made pack and is not approved by the FDA, MHRA, TGA or Health Canada. The FDA says that importing unapproved medicines for personal use is illegal in most circumstances, so check the rules where you live.
Before you order
Read the patient leaflet that comes with the pack. Tell your doctor or pharmacist about any other medicines you take and any health conditions you have. Get urgent medical help if you notice signs of an allergic reaction, such as swelling of the face, lips, tongue or throat, trouble breathing, or a widespread rash.
