What is QL 25mg?

QL 25mg is an Indian brand of quetiapine, an atypical antipsychotic. Each tablet contains quetiapine 25 mg. It is made in India by Elikem Pharmaceuticals.

What it is used for

According to the US FDA label for Seroquel (DailyMed), quetiapine is used for schizophrenia in adults and teenagers 13 to 17 years, manic episodes of bipolar I disorder in adults and children 10 to 17 years, depressive episodes of bipolar disorder in adults, and, together with lithium or divalproex, maintenance treatment of bipolar I disorder in adults. The US label carries a boxed warning that older people with dementia related psychosis who take antipsychotic medicines have a higher risk of death (it is not approved for that use), and that antidepressants increased the risk of suicidal thoughts and behaviors in children, teenagers and young adults in short term studies. Your doctor decides whether it suits you.

Quetiapine is a prescription medicine in the US, UK, Australia and Canada. QL 25mg itself is an India made pack and is not approved by the FDA, MHRA, TGA or Health Canada.
