What is Respidon 4mg?

Respidon 4mg is an Indian brand of risperidone, an atypical antipsychotic. Each tablet contains risperidone 4 mg. It is made in India by Torrent Pharmaceuticals Ltd.

What it is used for

According to the US FDA label for Risperdal (DailyMed), risperidone is used for schizophrenia in adults and teenagers 13 to 17 years, acute manic or mixed episodes of bipolar I disorder (on its own in adults and children 10 to 17 years, or with lithium or valproate in adults), and irritability linked to autistic disorder in children and teenagers 5 to 17 years. The US label carries a boxed warning that older people with dementia related psychosis who take antipsychotic medicines have a higher risk of death, and it is not approved for that use. Your doctor decides whether it suits you.

Risperidone is a prescription medicine in the US, UK, Australia and Canada. Respidon 4mg itself is an India made pack and is not approved by the FDA, MHRA, TGA or Health Canada.
