What is Veenat 100mg?

Veenat 100mg is an Indian brand of imatinib, a kinase inhibitor cancer medicine. Each hard capsule contains imatinib 100 mg, as imatinib mesylate. It is made in India by Natco Pharma Ltd.

What it is used for

According to the UK SmPC for Imatinib Dr. Reddy's 100 mg hard capsules (emc), imatinib is used for Philadelphia chromosome positive (Ph+) chronic myeloid leukaemia in adults and children, in the settings the label lists; Ph+ acute lymphoblastic leukaemia (newly diagnosed with chemotherapy in adults and children, or relapsed or refractory in adults on its own); myelodysplastic or myeloproliferative diseases with PDGFR gene rearrangements in adults; advanced hypereosinophilic syndrome and chronic eosinophilic leukaemia with the FIP1L1 PDGFR alpha rearrangement in adults; Kit (CD117) positive gastrointestinal stromal tumours in adults that cannot be removed or have spread, and after surgery in adults at significant risk of relapse; and dermatofibrosarcoma protuberans in adults when surgery is not an option.
