What is Aldactone 100mg?

Aldactone 100mg is spironolactone, an aldosterone antagonist (potassium sparing diuretic), sold in India under the Aldactone brand name by RPG Life Sciences Ltd. Each tablet contains spironolactone 100 mg.

What it is used for

According to the US FDA label for Aldactone (DailyMed), spironolactone is used for NYHA class III to IV heart failure with reduced ejection fraction, as an add on treatment for high blood pressure not controlled by other medicines, fluid build up (edema) in liver cirrhosis or nephrotic syndrome when other measures have not worked well enough, and primary hyperaldosteronism. Your doctor decides whether it suits you.

Prescription status

Spironolactone is a prescription medicine in the US, UK, Australia and Canada. Aldactone 100mg itself is an Indian market pack and is not approved by the FDA, MHRA, TGA or Health Canada.
