About Cardace 2.5mg
What is Cardace 2.5mg?
Cardace 2.5mg is an Indian brand of ramipril, an ACE inhibitor. Each tablet contains ramipril 2.5 mg. It is made in India by Sanofi India Limited.
What it is used for
According to the UK SmPC for Tritace 2.5 mg tablets (emc), ramipril is used for high blood pressure; lowering the risk of heart attack, stroke and death in people with established heart or artery disease, or diabetes with at least one other heart risk factor; some kidney diseases with protein in the urine (diabetic and non diabetic); symptomatic heart failure; and improving survival after a heart attack in people with signs of heart failure. The US label for ramipril carries a boxed warning that medicines acting on the renin angiotensin system can injure or cause the death of an unborn baby, so ramipril should be stopped as soon as pregnancy is found. Your doctor decides whether it suits you.

Ramipril is a prescription medicine in the US, UK, Australia and Canada. Ramipril tablets are a UK form; in the US ramipril comes as capsules. Cardace 2.5mg itself is an India made pack and is not approved by the FDA, MHRA, TGA or Health Canada. The FDA says that importing unapproved medicines for personal use is illegal in most circumstances, so check the rules where you live.
