About Tadarise PRO 40mg
Tadarise Pro 40 is a tadalafil tablet from India, sold under the Tadarise brand that Indian pharmacy listings attribute to Sunrise Remedies Pvt Ltd. Each tablet contains 40 mg of tadalafil, twice the highest dose approved for erectile dysfunction. In the US, 40 mg once a day is an approved tadalafil dose only for pulmonary arterial hypertension (for example Adcirca, taken as two 20 mg tablets). Tadalafil itself is licensed in the US, UK, Australia and Canada, but not at 40 mg for erectile dysfunction, and this Indian pack is not registered with the FDA, MHRA, TGA or Health Canada. We sell it in packs of 90, 120, 150 and 300 tablets, from $0.82 a tablet.
We stock Tadarise Pro 40 because customers ask for it by name, but we would not recommend it as a first or second choice. 40 mg is the only dose above 20 mg with placebo-controlled side effect rates in an approved (US) label, from a pulmonary hypertension trial, and that trial recorded more headache, flushing and muscle pain at 40 mg than at 20 mg. Only the 300 pack reaches the $149 free shipping threshold on its own, and it is also the cheapest per tablet before shipping. With shipping, the 90 pack totals $120, the 120 pack $146 and the 150 pack $170. Even the smallest pack is 90 tablets, which is a lot of a dose above the labelled maximum. For comparison, Vidalista 20, at the labelled maximum dose, costs $0.72 to $0.93 a tablet before shipping, and Vidalista 40, another 40 mg brand, costs $0.82 to $1.06 a tablet before shipping.
What "Pro" means, and how it compares with Tadarise 40 and Vidalista 40
The name does not explain what "Pro" stands for, and we have found no maker document that does. What we can see is the carton. The Tadarise Pro 40 carton in our product photo describes pink "uncoated" tablets coloured with Ponceau 4R. The plain Tadarise 40 carton in our photos describes yellow "film coated" tablets coloured with tartrazine. Both say 40 mg of tadalafil per tablet.
Neither carton claims that the Pro tablet works faster or lasts longer, and some online listings that describe it as a fast-dissolving or sublingual tablet give no evidence for that. The tadalafil labels give no faster onset for any form, so plan the same timing as for any tadalafil tablet. We have seen no data comparing how Tadarise Pro 40, Tadarise 40 and Vidalista 40 are absorbed. There are no bioequivalence data between these brands, so treat them as the same dose and never take more than one 40 mg tablet of any brand in 24 hours.
Compared with Cialis and US generic tadalafil
There is no Cialis 40 mg tablet. In the US, Cialis comes in 5, 10 and 20 mg and generic tadalafil in 2.5 to 20 mg; 20 mg is the labelled maximum for erectile dysfunction. Adcirca and its generic versions for pulmonary arterial hypertension are also 20 mg tablets; the 40 mg daily dose is two tablets taken together. US generics are approved because they showed bioequivalence to the brand. Tadarise Pro 40 has not been through that process with the FDA, MHRA, TGA or Health Canada.
Generic tadalafil has become cheap in the US. In the NADAC survey effective 21 October 2026, the average US pharmacy purchase cost of generic 20 mg tadalafil was $0.14480 to $0.18871 per tablet, against $53.75860 for a Cialis 20 mg tablet. That is a pharmacy purchase cost, not a retail price, but if you are in the US and have a prescription, compare US generic tadalafil cash prices before ordering from abroad.
Can you split Tadarise Pro 40 into two 20 mg doses?
The tadalafil label says not to: "Do not split CIALIS tablets; entire dose should be taken." The carton in our product photo does not say the tablet is designed to be split, and there is no evidence that a cut tablet gives two accurate 20 mg doses. If 20 mg is the dose that suits you, buy a 20 mg tablet such as Vidalista 20.
What the evidence says about going above 20 mg
Tadalafil's main erectile dysfunction trials used 2.5 mg to 20 mg. A pooled analysis of 11 placebo-controlled trials reported results for both as-needed doses: 20 mg added about ten percentage points of successful attempts over 10 mg, a smaller step than the one from placebo to 10 mg.
The European Medicines Agency's review of Cialis found the difference between 10 mg and 20 mg statistically significant but "rather marginal", and expected only a few patients to get more benefit from 20 mg than from 10 mg. It also records that dose-finding studies, using an earlier tablet formulation, explored 2 mg to 100 mg: a dose-related effect was seen, and 100 mg appeared to be the worst tolerated. No dose above 20 mg went on to the main trials, and the review gives no efficacy or side effect figures for the higher doses.
What is missing matters most to a buyer of 40 mg tablets: the EMA review records that no dose titration study tested higher doses in men without an adequate response to 10 mg or 20 mg. So there is no evidence that 40 mg helps when 20 mg, taken correctly, has failed.
The US labels add two safety data points above 20 mg. Single doses up to 500 mg have been given to healthy men and daily doses up to 100 mg to men with erectile dysfunction, and the label says the adverse events were "similar to those seen at lower doses"; it does not say whether that means the same kind, frequency or severity. In a study of a single 100 mg dose in 90 healthy men aged 18 to 53, the QTc interval rose by 3.5 milliseconds and heart rate by 3.1 beats per minute compared with placebo. Neither is evidence that 40 mg works better.
The 20 mg vs 40 mg trial
The placebo-controlled comparison of 20 mg and 40 mg in the US labels is the Adcirca trial in pulmonary arterial hypertension (PAH). It randomised 405 patients to placebo, 2.5, 10, 20 or 40 mg once daily for 16 weeks. The label lists every side effect reported by at least 9% of patients on 40 mg and at least 2 percentage points more often than on placebo:

Headache, flushing, muscle aches and limb pain all rose from 20 mg to 40 mg. Indigestion and back pain were slightly lower at 40 mg, so not every side effect scales with dose. Read these figures with care: 78% of the patients were women, 53% were also taking bosentan, everyone took tadalafil every day, and PAH itself causes symptoms. They are not the rates a man would see taking 40 mg occasionally for erectile dysfunction, but the direction is the useful part.
Two other findings from the Adcirca label apply to 40 mg. In pulmonary hypertension patients, going from 20 mg to 40 mg raised total exposure about 1.5 times, not double. And in a study of a single 40 mg dose in 59 people, there was no effect on sharpness of vision, eye pressure or pupil measurements. PDE5 inhibitors can briefly impair the ability to tell blue from green, a dose-related effect, but across all tadalafil studies changes in colour vision were reported in under 0.1% of patients.
How long it lasts and how long it stays
A longer window is a common reason for buying a stronger tablet, but the 36-hour window comes from studies of 10 mg and 20 mg. In one Cialis label study, 64% of men who took 20 mg reported at least one successful attempt 33 to 39 hours after the dose, against 37% on placebo. There are no duration data for 40 mg.
After a 40 mg dose, tadalafil's average half-life in healthy volunteers is 15 hours (17.5 hours in the Cialis label), so roughly a third of the dose is still present 24 hours later and a tablet taken the next day adds to it. Back pain and muscle aches from tadalafil usually start 12 to 24 hours after a dose and settle within 48 hours, so they can arrive well after sex. Which Tadarise strength to choose
The tadalafil label recommends 10 mg before sex for most men, allows 20 mg or 5 mg depending on effect and side effects, and for daily use recommends 2.5 mg, rising to 5 mg if needed.

If 20 mg feels too weak, the usual causes are practical: judging it too soon (peak blood levels arrive at a median of 2 hours, anywhere from 30 minutes to 6 hours), too little sexual stimulation, heavy drinking, a medicine that lowers tadalafil levels (rifampin cut exposure by 88% in a label study), or a worsening underlying cause such as diabetes or vascular disease. Daily 2.5 mg or 5 mg removes the timing problem, and switching to sildenafil (Cenforce 100) helps some men who respond poorly to tadalafil. If 20 mg taken correctly does not work, a doctor can look for a treatable cause and discuss other treatments.
If you and your doctor decide on Tadarise Pro 40
- Only consider it if a doctor has looked at why 20 mg is not working and agrees to a higher dose. 40 mg is twice the labelled maximum for erectile dysfunction. If side effects are troublesome, stop and speak to your doctor.
- Take no more than one tablet in 24 hours. Because about a third of the dose is still present the next day, our advice is not to take it on consecutive days unless your doctor has advised it.
- Take it at least 30 minutes before sexual activity, and swallow the tablet whole; do not split it. Take it with or without food, since food does not change tadalafil absorption.
- Never combine it with another tadalafil product (including Tadarise 40, Vidalista 40, daily tadalafil or Adcirca), with a sildenafil, vardenafil or avanafil product, or with any other erectile dysfunction treatment.
- Avoid heavy drinking: the label warns that 5 or more units of alcohol with tadalafil can increase the chance of dizziness, a faster heart rate, a fall in blood pressure on standing, and headache.
- It works only with sexual stimulation. It does not cause an erection on its own.
Men for whom Tadarise Pro 40 is not suitable
For the first three groups below (for kidney impairment, a creatinine clearance below 50 mL/min), the labelled limit is 10 mg or lower, so Tadarise Pro 40 is not suitable. For the others, the label asks for the lowest dose or extra caution.
- Potent CYP3A4 inhibitors such as ketoconazole, itraconazole or ritonavir: no more than 10 mg, once every 72 hours. Erythromycin, clarithromycin and grapefruit juice are also likely to raise tadalafil levels.
- Kidney impairment (creatinine clearance below 50 mL/min): in label studies, tadalafil exposure doubled in people with creatinine clearance of 30 to 80 mL/min. With 30 to 50 mL/min, start at 5 mg, maximum 10 mg once every 48 hours; below 30 mL/min or on dialysis, no more than 5 mg once every 72 hours. Between 51 and 80 mL/min the label sets no lower limit, but exposure still doubled, so ask your doctor before using any dose above 20 mg.
- Liver impairment: mild or moderate, no more than 10 mg a day, and the label has no data above 10 mg; severe, not recommended.
- Alpha blockers (for example doxazosin, tamsulosin or alfuzosin): the US label says to be stable on the alpha blocker first and then start tadalafil at the lowest recommended dose, so Tadarise Pro 40 is not suitable. The UK and EU label says "the combination of tadalafil and doxazosin is not recommended", because it can lower blood pressure enough to cause fainting.
- Blood pressure medicines: tadalafil can add to their blood pressure lowering effect. The interaction studies used 10 mg or 20 mg, and the UK and EU label says that where only 10 mg was tested, interactions at higher doses cannot be completely ruled out.
Side effects at the labelled doses
These rates come from the eight main placebo-controlled trials of tadalafil taken as needed for erectile dysfunction. There are no equivalent figures for 40 mg used this way.

When to get urgent help
- An erection lasting more than 4 hours, whether painful or not. Without prompt treatment it can permanently damage the penis and cause lasting erectile dysfunction.
- Sudden loss or reduction of vision in one or both eyes. Stop taking tadalafil and get medical help straight away.
- Sudden loss or reduction of hearing, sometimes with ringing in the ears or dizziness. Stop taking tadalafil and get prompt medical attention.
- Chest pain or other symptoms when starting sex: stop and get medical help right away.
- Fainting, or swelling of the lips, tongue or throat, difficulty breathing or swallowing, or a rash, hives or blistering skin.
- If you take more than one tablet, contact a doctor or emergency department straight away.
If you need emergency care for chest pain, tell the staff that you took tadalafil, how much and when. Because tadalafil lasts so long, the label says at least 48 hours should pass after the last dose before a nitrate is considered, even in a life-threatening situation, and only with close monitoring. That 48-hour figure comes from a study of 20 mg taken daily for 7 days, and the Adcirca label applies the same 48 hours after its 40 mg dose. Make sure the staff know how much you took.
Who must not take Tadarise Pro 40
- Anyone using nitrates in any form, regularly or occasionally, including nitroglycerin sprays, tablets or patches for angina, and amyl or butyl nitrite "poppers".
- Anyone taking a guanylate cyclase stimulator such as riociguat (Adempas).
- Anyone who has had a serious allergic reaction to tadalafil or any ingredient of the tablet, including its colouring (the carton in our product photo names Ponceau 4R). Serious skin reactions, including Stevens-Johnson syndrome, have been reported with tadalafil.
- Men for whom sex is inadvisable because of a heart condition. These groups were not included in the trials: men who had a heart attack in the last 90 days or a stroke in the last 6 months, men with unstable angina or angina during sex, heart failure (NYHA class 2 or worse) in the last 6 months, uncontrolled arrhythmias, blood pressure below 90/50, or uncontrolled high blood pressure. The UK and EU Cialis label lists these groups as contraindications; the US label says tadalafil is not recommended for them.
- Anyone who has lost vision in one eye from NAION (a sudden loss of blood flow to the optic nerve). The UK and EU label lists this as a contraindication; the US label says to use tadalafil only with caution, when the expected benefits outweigh the risks.
Heart attack, sudden cardiac death and stroke have been reported in men taking tadalafil, mostly in men who already had heart risk factors, and many during or soon after sex.
Talk to a doctor first if you have aortic stenosis or another obstruction to blood flow out of the heart, a deformed penis (angulation or Peyronie's disease), a condition that raises the risk of prolonged erections (sickle cell anaemia, multiple myeloma, leukaemia), a bleeding disorder or an active stomach ulcer. The label does not recommend tadalafil for men with hereditary retinal disorders such as retinitis pigmentosa. Tadarise Pro 40 is for adult men only, and it does not protect against sexually transmitted infections.
Prescription and legal status
Tadalafil is a prescription medicine in the US, Australia and Canada, and in the UK apart from Cialis Together 10 mg, which pharmacies can sell after a consultation. The FDA, EMA, MHRA, TGA and Health Canada have not approved any tadalafil dose above 20 mg for erectile dysfunction. The Tadarise Pro 40 pack is not registered with the FDA, MHRA, TGA or Health Canada. The carton in our product photo is marked "For export only". In the US, the FDA says personal importation of unapproved medicines is illegal in most circumstances. We recommend seeing a doctor before using tadalafil, especially at a dose above 20 mg, and checking the rules where you live before ordering.
Buying genuine Tadarise Pro 40
The MHRA warning on unlicensed medicines covers Tadarise Pro 40: "Any medicine not authorised for sale in the UK can be unsafe or ineffective and there is no way of knowing what is in them or the negative health effects they can have." It adds that erectile dysfunction pills bought online "may contain no active ingredient, the wrong dose, hidden drugs or toxic ingredients". It advises UK buyers: "Only use UK-registered pharmacies, including online pharmacies displaying the official green cross logo". When your order arrives, check that each strip reads Tadarise Pro 40 and shows a batch number and an expiry date, and reject strips that are damaged, unsealed or unmarked. These checks cannot prove a product is genuine on their own, because counterfeiters copy packaging. If a batch causes unusual symptoms, stop using it, seek medical advice, and report it to your medicines regulator (the MHRA Yellow Card scheme in the UK, FDA MedWatch in the US, the TGA in Australia or Health Canada) as well as to us.

How do I take Tadarise Pro 40, and can I cut it in half?

How long does tadalafil 40 mg last?
The 36-hour window comes from studies of 10 mg and 20 mg: in one label study, 64% of men on 20 mg reported a successful attempt 33 to 39 hours after the dose, against 37% on placebo. There are no duration data for 40 mg. After a 40 mg dose the average half-life in healthy volunteers is 15 hours. Back pain and muscle aches from tadalafil usually start 12 to 24 hours after a dose.
Should I try Tadarise 60 or Tadarise Black 80 if 40 mg is not enough?
No. We would not recommend Tadarise 60 or Tadarise Black 80; the label sets 20 mg as the maximum, and there is no evidence that higher doses help when 20 mg taken correctly has failed. If tadalafil is not working, the usual causes are timing, too little stimulation, heavy drinking, interacting medicines or a worsening underlying condition. A doctor can look for a treatable cause and discuss other treatments, including daily 2.5 mg or 5 mg tadalafil or sildenafil.
What are the side effects of tadalafil 40 mg?
In the pulmonary hypertension trial of daily 20 mg and 40 mg, headache rose from 32% to 42%, flushing from 6% to 13%, muscle aches from 9% to 14% and limb pain from 5% to 11%. Those patients took it every day for a lung disease, so occasional use for erectile dysfunction would not give the same rates. At the labelled 20 mg erectile dysfunction dose, headache affected 15% and indigestion 10%. Get urgent help for an erection lasting more than 4 hours, sudden vision or hearing loss, chest pain, fainting or signs of allergy.
Who should not take Tadarise Pro 40?
Never take it with nitrates in any form, including nitroglycerin and poppers, or with riociguat, or after a serious allergic reaction to tadalafil or any ingredient of the tablet. The UK and EU label also lists as contraindications a heart attack in the last 90 days or a stroke in the last 6 months, unstable angina or angina during sex, heart failure (NYHA class 2 or worse) in the last 6 months, uncontrolled arrhythmias, blood pressure below 90/50 or uncontrolled high blood pressure, and NAION in one eye; the US label says tadalafil is not recommended for these heart groups and should be used with caution after NAION. It is not suitable for men taking potent CYP3A4 inhibitors such as ritonavir, men with creatinine clearance below 50 mL/min, men with mild or moderate liver impairment, or men on alpha blockers, because the label sets a lower limit for them or asks for the lowest dose; with severe liver impairment the label does not recommend tadalafil at all.
