About Cosart 50mg
What is Cosart 50mg?
Cosart 50mg is an Indian brand of losartan potassium, an angiotensin II receptor blocker (ARB). Each tablet contains losartan potassium 50 mg. It is made in India by Cipla Limited.
What it is used for
According to the US FDA label for Cozaar (DailyMed), losartan potassium is used for high blood pressure in adults and children 6 years and older, lowering the risk of stroke in people with high blood pressure and a thickened heart muscle (left ventricular hypertrophy), although the label notes evidence that this benefit does not apply to Black patients, and kidney disease caused by type 2 diabetes in people with a history of high blood pressure. The US label carries a boxed warning: medicines that act on the renin angiotensin system can harm or kill an unborn baby, so it is stopped as soon as pregnancy is found. Your doctor decides whether it suits you.
Packs and price
Cosart 50mg comes in packs of 60, 90 and 120 tablets. The lowest price works out at about $0.28 per tablet on the 120 tablet pack, as of October 2026; the pack selector shows the current price. Shipping is $25 on orders under $149 and free from $149.
Prescription status
Losartan is a prescription medicine in the US, UK, Australia and Canada. Cosart 50mg itself is an India made pack and is not approved by the FDA, MHRA, TGA or Health Canada. The FDA says that importing unapproved medicines for personal use is illegal in most circumstances, so check the rules where you live.
Before you order
Read the patient leaflet that comes with the pack. Tell your doctor or pharmacist about any other medicines you take and any health conditions you have. Get urgent medical help if you notice signs of an allergic reaction, such as swelling of the face, lips, tongue or throat, trouble breathing, or a widespread rash.
Delivery
Orders usually arrive in 7 to 14 business days in plain packaging, with a tracking number.
